Hey!

I'm so glad I found this site! I am a second year biotechnology undergraduate student at the University of Florida. I'm currently doing research at the university's plant cellular and molecular biology lab. I have met only one other student pursuing the same degree as me (our school has about 50,000 students) and I have had trouble with receiving advice from someone who really knows the field. My main concern right now is what I should do after I receive my undergraduate degree. I have thought of graduate school but I don't even know what field I would go into. Also, I feel there is so much negativity in biological academic research (i.e salaries are too low for the amount of effort put in or people can't find jobs in industry). I don't want to go into academic research and I am worried I won't find a well paying job in industry. Because of this I have been having some doubts with my degree and I have been thinking about medical school. I was hoping you would be able to give me some advice with various paths I could take after undergrad...and hopefully some reassurance! If not, would you know anyone that could help me? Thanks!
