Miami Dade is heavily invested in their Biotechnology Programs and so is the government. The school received over 10 million in grants as a part of Florida's Jobs for Florida's Future Program. The University features a great laboratory and impressive facilities. Investments like this will help sustain Florida's stance as major force in the field. Miami Dade features two different Associates Degree Programs and also two different Certificate Programs.

Associate of Science Biotechnology - Two different associate level degrees are offered:

  • Associate in Arts Degree: 60 Credits - This program provides the first two years of a four-year curriculum for students planning to major in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, or bioinformatics.
  • Associate in Science Degree: 61 Credit - This degree is intended for those that intend to seek immediate entry into the workforce as a technician.

Certificate - Biotechnology - Two different certificate programs are offered:

  • College Credit Certificate: 19 Credits - The College Credit Certificate in Biotechnology will prepare students for immediate entry-level employment in the bioscience industry. The college credits granted in this program will apply toward an Associate in Science degree in Biotechnology.
  • Advanced Technical Certificate: 33 Credits - This fast-track program is designed to cross-train or retrain professionals from other fields who want to gain the skills and experience necessary to be successful in the biotechnology industry.
